Hi, i’m dr. kellison

Trusted team members - Norman & Stanley

You have found your way here likely because you are desiring change. Change comes at a cost, it takes valuable resources. However, it also takes a lot of effort to stay stuck in cycles. I honor the work of coaching you into intentional ways of walking through your life and relationship.

I am a Montana native who found the majesty of the PNW when I moved to Seattle for graduate school over a decade ago. I was fortunate to live in some other beautiful places, like CO, while I was an Active-Duty Army Psychologist. During my time working with Active-Duty folks, I started working with couples. I so enjoyed working directly with relationships and seeing systems change that I pursued further training.

I live in Bellingham with my husband, our three kiddos, and our two labradoodles. In my free time, I enjoy all things outdoors, reading, cooking, and adventuring with my family.

I am licensed in both WA State and Montana - meaning, if you reside anywhere within WA State or Montana we are able to work together. I am also licensed through PSYPACT, meaning if you reside within one of these states we can work together.

My Approach

The main focus of my practice is couples work. I am a Certified Gottman Therapist, Certified Discernment Counselor, and have advanced training in Emotion-Focused Therapy for Couples. My goal is to coach couples to enhanced friendship, understanding of the unhelpful cycles that upend their relationship and developing new cycles that serve the goals of the partnership.

My belief is the work of therapy is often to learn how to be present with discomfort and cultivate a new path forward in the direction of the life one wants that is full, rich, and meaningful. I aim to help clients identify and cope with internal obstacles that keep them from having the kind of life they want. If you are interested in exploring the process of making necessary changes to live a more fulfilling life that is centered on your personal values and strengths then this will likely be a good fit.

Telehealth and virtual visits

My goal is remove many of the barriers associated with therapy.

There is no need to accommodate for travel time or find parking. It can even help if childcare is an issue. In order to remove some of these barriers for folks I conduct therapy through virtual visits. This means you can find a private and cozy space in your home and log-in for our appointments.
